Kanari guide

Kanari is the sales module: tracking prospects from first contact through to closed business.
Brief guide — this module is still being developed
Kanari is not as settled as Kreativstaff. This page gives an overview and the division of roles; a step-by-step guide will follow.
Tell us which part you need most.
For whom
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| CRM Admin | Everything: contacts, deals, automation, settings |
| Sales Manager | Manages the whole team's contacts and pipeline; views reports |
| Sales Analyst | Read-only — reports, contacts, deals. Cannot edit |
| Sales Rep | Their own contacts and deals, plus the shared inbox |
| CRM Viewer | Read-only contacts and deals |
Sales Reps see their own; Sales Managers see everything
This is the separation most often asked about. A sales rep does not see a colleague's prospects — that is deliberate, so each person's pipeline stays undisturbed.
If someone needs to see the whole team, the thing to change is their role.
Main screens
| Screen | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Sales summary |
| Contacts | Contacts and prospects |
| Pipeline | Deals moving from stage to stage |
| Inbox | The shared inbox |
| Calendar | Agenda and appointments |
| Automation | Automatic actions when something happens |
| Reports | Sales performance reports |
| Settings | Module settings |
The core idea
A deal moves through the pipeline's stages. What makes a CRM useful is not the record-keeping but its ability to answer two questions:
- How much value is sitting at each stage
- Which deals have stalled too long at one stage
A pipeline is only as accurate as the discipline of filling it in
Deals whose stage is never moved make the report look healthy when it is not.
The team's agreement on when a deal changes stage matters more to this module's usefulness than any feature inside it.
Relationship to other modules
Automatic movement from a won deal to an invoice in the finance module is not yet available.
