Finara guide

Finara is the finance and accounting module: recording sales and purchases, keeping the books, reconciling the bank, and preparing financial statements.
Brief guide — this module is still being developed
Finara is not as settled as Kreativstaff. This page gives an overview and the division of roles.
A detailed accounting guide has deliberately not been written yet: explaining accounting treatment half-correctly is more dangerous than not explaining it at all. It will be written once the module has settled and can be checked thoroughly.
Until then, base bookkeeping decisions on your accountant, not on this page.
For whom
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Finance Admin | Full access: sales, purchasing, accounting, tax, bank, settings |
| Finance Approver | The finance manager — approves invoices, bills, and payments; sees everything |
| Accountant | Journals, ledger, reports, tax, cash and bank |
| Sales Staff | The receivables side: invoices, orders, customers |
| Purchasing Staff | The payables side: bills, purchase orders, suppliers, expenses |
| Finance Viewer | Read-only |
The approver role is separated from the recorder role
Staff who create a bill cannot approve its payment themselves.
This is a basic financial control, and the system enforces it through role separation — rather than relying on a verbal agreement.

What has to be in place first
The accounting module cannot be used before its foundations exist:
Chart of accounts — the list of accounts your company uses. This is the most decisive piece, and the most troublesome to change once transactions exist.
Accounting period — when your financial year starts and ends.
Customer and supplier records — before the first invoice or bill.
Build the chart of accounts with your accountant, before the first transaction
Changing the account structure after hundreds of transactions have been recorded means moving those transactions one at a time — or accepting reports that cannot be compared across periods.
This is the part that is most expensive to get wrong, and cheapest to get right at the start.
Finara is not the same as Kreativlo billing
Two things easily confused:
| Finara | Kreativlo billing | |
|---|---|---|
| Records | Your company's receivables and payables | What you pay to subscribe to Kreativlo |
| Found in | The Finara module | Portal → Billing |
A Kreativlo subscription invoice does not enter Finara's books by itself — if it needs recording, record it like any other supplier bill.
Relationship to other modules
Automatic data movement from other modules — payroll from Kreativstaff, sales from Tokora, won deals from Kanari — is not yet available. All of it still goes through manual export.
