Tasks
Assignments for drivers, with the stops they must reach.
Dispatchers and Fleet Admins can create and edit tasks. Fleet Viewers can only look.
Four statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Created, not yet started |
| Running | Being worked on |
| Done | All stops complete |
| Cancelled | Stopped |
Late is not a status of its own — it is a flag that can attach to either a scheduled or a running task, once its estimated arrival time has passed.
Creating a task
| Field | Note |
|---|---|
| Title | What has to be done |
| Driver | Chosen from the driver list |
| Vehicle | Optional |
| Priority | Low, normal, or high |
| Address | Becomes the first stop |
| Estimated arrival | The basis for the late flag |
| Notes | Information for the driver |
Stops
One task can carry several stops in sequence. Each is ticked off when complete, and progress shows as "3 of 5".
Break long work into stops, not into many tasks
One task with five stops gives the dispatcher one row to watch. Five separate tasks give five rows whose order they have to reconstruct themselves.
Filtering the list
Tabs above the list filter by status, each showing its count: all, running, late, and done.
The late tab is the one dispatchers open most — open it first every morning.
Automatic refresh
The task list refreshes itself periodically, so you do not have to reload the page to see the latest state.
