Managing public holidays, collective leave, and company events.

Everyone can open it — employees need to know when the holidays are. Only holders of HR settings permission can change it.

Importing public holidays

Pick the year, then press Import calendar. The system pulls in the national holidays and collective leave days.

Which is why re-importing is safe every time the government revises collective leave — your own dates will not disappear.

Do not set "repeats yearly" for moving religious holidays

Eid, Nyepi, and Vesak fall on different dates each year. Marking them as recurring will lock the wrong date in future years.

For those, rely on the national calendar import.

This is not merely a label. When switched on, three things apply to that date:

Employees cannot clock in — the button is disabled, with a reason naming that holiday.
That date does not consume leave entitlement — leave spanning it does not count that day.
Overtime is calculated at the holiday rate, which is considerably higher than an ordinary working day.

Switch it off for events that are still working days — an afternoon family gathering, say, or a company anniversary where people still come in.

One mistake here affects the whole company

Switching "attendance lock" on for an ordinary working day stops everyone clocking in that day, and pays that day's overtime at the holiday rate.

Check twice before saving.

Above the table, a summary panel counts total holidays, how many lock attendance, and how many are collective leave.

This is the fastest way to spot a date set wrongly: if the "locks attendance" figure is higher than you expected, something is amiss.
