Salary Calculator
Five tabs for quick calculations without creating a payroll run.
| Tab | Calculates |
|---|---|
| Take-home | Net pay from gross |
| Income tax | The tax deduction |
| Social security | Health and employment contributions |
| Overtime | Overtime pay from a number of hours |
| Festive allowance | The holiday allowance from length of service |
When to use it
- Answering an employee's "if my salary rose to this, what would I take home?"
- Preparing a job offer
- Checking whether a payslip figure looks plausible
The results are estimates
The calculator does not know a particular person's dependant status, enrolled programmes, or salary components — unless you enter them yourself.
For binding figures, use the payroll run's result.
The overtime tab
Worth remembering: the overtime rate depends on the day's classification — ordinary working day, weekly rest day, or public holiday — and on which hour of overtime it is.
The calculator shows the breakdown, not just the total, so you can explain it to an employee who asks.
