People — the concepts
The People menu manages people: the directory, profiles, organisation structure, and onboarding. Before the pages themselves, two concepts explain almost every confusion in this menu.
Account, membership, registered employee
| Term | Meaning | Set in |
|---|---|---|
| Account | The person's identity in Kreativlo | The Kreativlo Portal |
| Membership | Their seat at your company, with job title and unit | Portal (role) + Kreativstaff (work data) |
| Registered employee | A membership with employment data: start date, contract, office, shift | Kreativstaff → Employees |
You can hold a seat without being a registered employee
Someone can sign in successfully and appear in the directory badged not registered, yet not appear on the attendance roster or in payroll.
This is the most frequent cause of "the new employee is missing from payroll" and "the new employee cannot clock in". Completing it is the job of the add-employee wizard.
Two routes to "manager"
Both are real and both are used:
Unit manager — the head of a department, set in Units & Structure.
Direct manager per person — set in the People Chart or on the person's profile. It beats the unit manager for that person.
Changing a manager changes where requests flow
Leave, overtime, claims, and other requests are routed along this line.
Changes apply to new requests; those already running stay on their old chain. So changing the structure will not clear a queue that has already gone the wrong way — that has to be settled by its original approver.
